FRENCH shipping giant CMA CGM will levy a general rate increase on cargo from Asia to Panama and the Caribbean and which includes Cuba on its PEX2 service from June 15.

Rate increases will be US$1,050 per TEU, US$1,500 per FEU and US$1,500 per 40-foot high cube.



CMA CGM will also exact a Freight All Kinds (FAK) rate increase from June 1 for cargo from Asian port to US ports.



To US west coast ports, the rate will be US$1,650 per FEU, and to US east coast ports, it will be US$2,650 per FEU high cube. These rates are subject to applicable tariff/contract surcharges.
